Santa Barbara Board of Supervisors Recognizes Contributions of Chumash Indian Tribe

The Santa Barbara County Board of Supervisors recently recognized the substantial contributions of the Santa Ynez Band of Chumash Indians to the local area. The Board unanimously passed a resolution praising the Chumash and acknowledging that the Band has "gained cultural and economic prominence and made valuable contributions to our society." Tribal Chairman Vincent Armenta accepted a framed copy of the resolution on behalf of the Chumash.
